Rhombus Calculation

A rhombus is a quadrangular geometric shape and has the following characteristics

  • All four sides are the same length

  • The angles of the opposite corners are identical

  • The opposite sides are parallel to each other

Rhombus Formulas

  • Area
A = a · h A=(e · f)/2 A=a2 · sin(α)
  • Length
a = A / h a= √(e/2)² + (f/2)²  
  • Height
h = A / a h = sin(α) · a b = sin(β) · a
  • Perimeter
P = 4 · a P = 4 · h / sin(α) P = 4 · h / sin(β)
  • Long diagonal
e = h / sin(α/2) e = a · sin(β) / sin(α/2) e = 2 · a · cos(α/2)
  • Short diagonal
f = h / sin(β/2) f = a · sin(α) / sin(β/2) f = 2 · a · cos (β/2)
  • Angle Beta
β = asin(h/a)
