Prismatoid Calculation

Calculator and formulas for a prismatoid

Prismatoid calculator

This function calculates the height or volume of a prismatoid. A prismatoid is a geometric solid with parallel polygons as the base and top surface and triangles, trapezoids or parallelograms as the side surfaces. In contrast to a prism, the base and top surfaces do not have to be congruent or have the same number of corners.

Enter the values of the three areas and the height or volume. Then click on 'Calculate'.

Formula for a prismatoid

Volume

\(\displaystyle V = \frac{h}{6} \cdot ( A_1 + 4\cdot A_2 + A_3 )\)

Height

\(\displaystyle h = \frac{6\cdot V}{A_1 + 4\cdot A_2 + A_3}\)
